AAPEX Town Hall Channel Panel of Industry Leaders to Discuss Aftermarket Future

The future of the aftermarket: "What will grow it? What will slow it?" is the theme for this year's Town Hall on November 5 at the Venetian Hotel during the Automotive Aftermarket Parts Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nevada. NASCAR is the official sponsor of the popular breakfast event.

Six dynamic individuals, representing a top program group, the number-one retailer, independent service providers and major parts manufacturers will comprise the panel on stage at the sell-out Town Hall breakfast event, according to the sponsor, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA.)

Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA's executive vice president, will moderate the 2003 Town Hall. Panelists include:

  • Lynne Cardwell, president and CEO, Car Care Center
  • Joseph P. Felicelli, senior vice president, Worldwide Aftermarket Operations, Federal-Mogul Corporation
  • Steve Handschuh, president, NAPA AUTO PARTS
  • Steve Odland, chairman, president and CEO, AutoZone, Inc.
  • Mark Salem, owner, Salem Boys Auto
  • John Washbish, president, Automotive Aftermarket Under Hood Group, Dana Automotive Aftermarket.

"We are extremely pleased that the Town Hall has become a must-attend event for AAPEX attendees and a consistent early sell-out," said Alfred L. Gaspar, AAIA president and CEO. "The continued success of Town Hall is due to our high profile sponsor, NASCAR, the topical theme, the caliber of the panelists and a great breakfast. This year's panelists are well known and respected for their insight and candor. We've tightened up the format to allow for more tough questions about controversial issues facing the aftermarket industry."

AAPEX will be held Tuesday, November 4 through Friday, November 7 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas during Automotive Aftermarket Industry week.
