Benevolence Program Donates Refurbished Used Cars Across USA

Mike Rose’s Auto Body, Inc., in Concord, Pleasanton, and Walnut Creek, California, has joined with other members of the Acoat selected organization to form the Acoat Selected National Benevolence Program. The Benevolence program is a community relations program whose mission is to “Present refurbished 'new' used cars to deserving individuals or organizations during the holiday season.

Mike Rose’s Auto Body, Inc. is just one of the Acoat Selected Shops in the country that will present a vehicle in December. This will be Mike Rose’s third year participating in the program. Last year, Mike Rose’s Auto Body, Inc. was fortunate enough to have three “new” used cars to present, and plans to do the same this year.

According to Sal Contreras, Sales/Marketing Manager for Mike Rose’s Auto Body, “Each year the collision repair industry as a whole comes across cars that are 'written off' by either the owner or the insurance company. Often times these are older vehicles that just need some mechanical and body work to get them back on the road and perfectly safe to drive. Because we believe these cars are going to waste when there are people who really need them, we decided to do something about it.”

What is unique about this program is that it is not just a Mike Rose’s Auto Body effort but a community one also. Everything is DONATED - the cars, parts, paint, mechanical inspections, tires, insurance, etc… In addition, the body and paint technicians donate their time and talents.

This year’s program is targeting a single week in December to give the cars away across the nation. Program participants hope to draw increased participation from other auto body facilities and their communities.

Mike Rose opened his first shop in 1972 and has since added four more, all in California.
