Kansai Paint Partners with PPG Industries in Auto Coatings
Major Japanese paint producer Kansai Paint Co. will team with U.S. coatings and glass maker PPG Industries Inc. to sell automotive coatings in the United States, Europe and China."By forming a partnership, we aim to respond quickly to demands from our customer auto makers that have expanded operations globally," Kansai Paint said in a statement.
The two firms will shortly begin selling products to Japanese auto makers operating in North America and Europe, Kansai Paint said.
Kansai, Japan's biggest automobile coatings maker, had been seeking a global partner to cope with increasing demand from Japanese auto makers operating overseas since it ended an alliance with U.S. chemical giant DuPont Co. in December 2003.
