Davis Named Editor in Chief of Glass Magazine and AutoGlass“From beat reporting and personality profiles to business analyses and architectural criticism, Nancy M. Davis has brought diversity and perspective to the National Glass Association’s publications,” said Nicole Harris, publisher of Window & Door, Glass Magazine and AutoGlass in announcing Davis’ appointment as editor in chief of the latter two magazines.Davis supervises a seven-person editorial team who work together on the two publications; they include Christopher D. Walz, recently appointed editor of AutoGlass, and Sahely Mukerji, who succeeds Davis as managing editor of Glass Magazine and AutoGlass. More than 25,000 flat-glass retail shop owners, contract glazing companies, architects, manufacturers and fabricators subscribe to the four-color monthly Glass Magazine for its in-depth reporting on the commercial and residential glazing industry. More than 12,500 auto-glass retail shop owners, installation technicians, distributors and suppliers subscribe to AutoGlass, a four-color seven-times-a-year trade publication targeting the automotive glass replacement and repair market. Davis served as managing editor of AutoGlass and Glass Magazine since October 2002. From October 1990 to October 2002, she edited the Newspaper Association of America’s Presstime magazine, attaining the title of managing editor. She previously edited and wrote for USA Today, Federal Times, Government Executive and Association Management magazines, The Governors’ Weekly Bulletin, State Legislatures magazine, School Board News, County News, The Washington Post, The New York Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Buffalo Courier-Express and other publications. “New multi-media presentation formats today provide fresh opportunities for reporting and editing in refined niches such as flat and automotive glass,” Davis said. “By using the Internet and e-mail as well as the magazines, we plan to bring subscribers the timely news they need on their jobs, as well as the magazines’ meaty education, training and technical articles required to stay competitive.” Davis succeeds longtime Glass Magazine and AutoGlass Editor Charles Cumpston, who now serves as editor emeritus of Glass Magazine and AutoGlass.
