Quest Software Licenses GLAXIS Technology for New Point-of-Sale Solution

Quest Software has launched the latest version of its GLASSquote Windows point-of-sale software, including a new Quest Information Exchange (QIX) interface that streamlines business operations by using GLAXIS technology for direct electronic connection to insurance and fleet claims managers. Using the new GLASSquote software, retail auto glass shops can electronically receive work assignments from fleet or insurance claims managers such as LYNX Services or request additional parts authorizations and approvals. The direct connection reduces data entry, time spent on the telephone and rejections in claims invoicing, all of which aims to help increase auto glass installers' profitability and cash flow.

"I wish I could keep it a secret," said John Russo of Express Glass, Houma, LA. "It really gives us an edge and frees up our customer service representatives."

Quest Software plans to enhance this solution and enable auto glass retailers using future releases to communicate electronically with preferred trading partners in all phases of the work-order process. From initiating insurance claims to checking parts availability and pricing to ordering parts, shops will be able to use GLASSquote software to connect directly with leading glass suppliers such as PPG Auto Glass and Old Dominion Glass for even faster, more foolproof claims processing.

"Faster, more efficient service often makes the difference between profit and loss for our customers," said Ron Zyzelewski, president, Quest Software. "Enabling our software products with GLAXIS technology helps the retail glass shops using them to handle insurance claims more efficiently."

Mike Jones, business manager, GLAXIS, said, "We are excited that Quest Software has become the fifth commercial software provider to license GLAXIS technology. This ensures more glass shop owners will have access to tools that can help increase their profitability."

GLAXIS is a technology unit of PPG Industries. More than 1,500 U.S. glass shops, parts suppliers and insurance and fleet companies use GLAXIS products.
