Jim Murphy Joins Fix Auto as Business Development Manager

Jim Murphy of St. Louis has been named director of business development, Central Region, for the Fix network of independently owned collision repair shops.

Murphy brings more than 24 years of experience in the automotive industry to the Fix organization. He began his career as general manager of a Toyota dealership in Florida. He moved on from there to become a branch manager for Akzo Coatings, and subsequently served as national account manager for BASF Corporation, and director of business development for Carter & Carter, consultants to the auto body industry. Murphy’s appointment continues the expansion of Fix’s staff outside of California, a trend that is likely to continue as Fix grows, according to president and chief operating officer Doug Kelly.

Meanwhile, Ron Guilliams and Sean Carey have take on new roles in the Fix network. Guilliams has been promoted to vice president, quality assurance. In this new role, he has responsibility for advancing Fix Auto’s progress on environmental, health and training programs. In addition to continuing to lead the field quality management program, Guilliams assumes responsibility for the company’s estimate review program.

Carey has been promoted to vice president, Strategic Alliances. In this new role, he will assume responsibility for the company’s insurance, automotive and vendor relationships. “The addition of Sean and Ron to the management team will be very helpful as we continue the rapid expansion of the Fix network across the U.S.” said Kelly.

Numbering just 36 stores in 2001, Fix Auto has now grown to 165 locations, with a goal of 500 stores in the network by the end of 2006.
