CCC and MOTOR Expand Relationship

CCC Information Services Inc. has expanded its relationship with Michigan-based MOTOR Information Systems Inc., a supplier of automotive repair and service information. Through the agreement, CCC will begin selling the entire line of MOTOR Crash Estimating Guides and Repair Manuals to the bodyshop market, further expanding its suite of estimating products for repairers.

CCC, a subsidiary of CCC Information Services Group, is a leading supplier of information and technology software and services to the automotive-claims and collision repair industries.

"Repairers are a diverse group, with each facility varying in its needs for estimating tools," said Jim Dickens, senior vice president, product management and marketing for CCC. "Whether you are a small shop that writes estimates manually or a large independent or multi-store facility using electronic estimate-writing methods, having comprehensive data at your fingertips is critical. By expanding our relationship with MOTOR, CCC can offer an estimating solution to meet the needs of virtually any repairer."

CCC has long integrated its flagship-estimating product, CCC Pathways Estimating Solution, with the MOTOR database, which provides information on more than 4 million parts and labor times. The Comp-Est(TM) Estimating Solution, which CCC acquired in 2003, also utilizes the MOTOR database. Together, the two solutions provide more than 21,000 repair facilities with the tools to write comprehensive estimates.

"MOTOR publishes more than 50,000 pages of auto repair and service information every year, while maintaining an active backlist of titles containing more than a quarter of a million pages of technical information," said Kevin Carr, president of MOTOR Information Systems. "Combining that depth of printed information with the breadth and depth of CCC's electronic offerings gives repair facilities access to data that is unmatched in the industry."
