SCRS Kansas City/Topeka Chapter Appoints Bob Smith Executive Director

The Kansas City/Topeka Chapter of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) has retained Bob Smith of Storm Services as Executive Administrator and Director of the KC/Topeka Chapter.

Smith has more than 38 years experience in the automotive and collision repair industry, starting his career in the insurance field while actively racing on a professional level. He moved on to owning his own small shop while serving as field operations vice president for an independent appraisal firm.

Since 1982 Smith has been co-owner of Storm Appraisal & Management Service with his wife Margo. He has been active in the Collision Industry Conference serving as either Chair or Co-chair of several committees and participant on many others. He has Co-chaired the Anti Fraud/Ethics committee since its inception almost 11 years ago. In past years he has received the NABC President’s Award and been inducted into the Hall of Eagles. His most recent project has been as one of five co-owners of American Collision Network Central Region.

Smith's first experience with SCRS was as its first independent appraiser member. He moved on to be Chair and Co-Chairs of numerous committees with SCRS and served as National Director for the past several years.

“Bob will provide the chapter with a much needed resource,” said David Horrocks, Chapter President. “He will enable us to grow our chapter and better represent our members regionally. His experience and dedication to the industry can only be a positive.”

We are pleased to have someone of Bob Smith’s varied experience in the Collision Repair field,” commented David McCreight, Chapter Secretary. “He has worked tirelessly as a volunteer board member to help pull off events such as golf tournaments, education nights of achievement, and many monthly meetings."
