Auto Body Shop Named in Lawsuit by Farmers Insurance is NOT a CARSTAR Franchisee

An auto body shop named in a civil fraud lawsuit by Farmers Insurance on September 2nd is NOT a current CARSTAR franchisee. Farmers announced it has begun serving civil summons and complaints alleging fraud at Best of the West Carstar Auto Body in Los Angeles.

That particular store WAS a CARSTAR franchisee from May 1996 to January 1998, but is no longer a franchisee. CARSTAR does not believe any of the alleged fraud happened while this store was an active CARSTAR franchisee.

CARSTAR is investigating why this particular store appears to be using the CARSTAR name despite the fact that it is not a current franchisee.

CARSTAR is committed to providing quality, accurate, safe repairs for all of its customers, and values the trust it has established among customers and insurance providers across North America.

CARSTAR is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas and has over 300 facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
