At a ceremony hosted by the North American Council of the Better Business Bureau (CBBB) in New Orleans, 911 Collision Centers received the 2004 Honorable Mention BBB International Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. Six companies were honored at the event.“These companies deserve widespread public recognition for the many steps they take each day to ensure top-notch treatment of their customers, their employees, their vendors and suppliers, their stakeholders and the communities in which they do business. Each winner superbly illustrates how operating with honesty, respect and integrity leads to success in the marketplace,” said Ken Hunter, President and CEO of the Council for Better Business Bureaus. Local Better Business Bureau President Tom Collier commented, “911 Collision Centers is one of the finest examples of a company that does business the ‘right way.’ Unbeknownst to them, I have had personal experience with 911 Collision. We had a mishap on vacation. My wife took the vehicle to 911 Collision and the service we received was exemplary.” Tucson's Mayor Bob Walkupsaid, “We are proud to have 911 Collision Centers as members of our business community. 911 Collision embodies the ethical standards to which every organization should strive.” “We are honored to have received this prestigious award and recognition; it acknowledges our staff’s commitment to the Corporate Values and Founding Purpose of 911 Collision,” stated Michael Quinn, President and co-founder of 911 Collision Centers. “I once read: 'Character is what people do when no one is looking'. We are tested daily on ethical conduct; given that and our company’s goals and objectives how could we possibly expect our employees to commit themselves to our organization if my partner and I did not conduct ourselves ethically? Growing this business has truly been a team effort from day one.” The coveted award and competition is open to for-profit businesses that provide goods or services to retail and wholesale markets located in the United States, Canada, and Mexico served by the Better Business Bureau. The BBB International Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics is designed to help illuminate the importance of corporate conscience and responsibility to uphold a fair and honest marketplace. Thomas J. Ryan, chair of the CBBB said, “There are many lessons to be learned from recent corporate scandals. Taking advantage of customers or investors, pursuing short-term gains, and ignoring the needs of employees or communities are paths to oblivion. The BBB Torch Award winners provide the parameters for a positive business model: Serve your customers, employees, investors, suppliers, communities, and even your competitors with high standards of integrity, and you will prosper over the long run.” Founded in 1998 by owner/operators Michael Quinn and Patrick O’Neill, 911 Collision Centers currently operates four collision repair facilities in Tucson, Arizona. 911 Collision Centers is the past recipient of the National Autobody Council (NABC) Pride Award for its commitment to charitable work. ©2004 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
