NATA Names Barbara Rutherford Crest New Executive Director

Barbara Rutherford Crest has been named executive director of the Northwest Automotive Trades Association (NATA).

"NATA has a strong history of serving the needs of automotive businesses in the Northwest, and I'm excited about the opportunity to help the organization do even more for those businesses," Crest said.

"Barbara brings to NATA all the skills we were looking for in a executive director," said Bob Anderson, a Salem shop owner and president of NATA. "She has experience not only managing a staff and running a business, but also coordinating the efforts of volunteers, working with government, organizing and marketing successful events and moving an organization forward toward its goals."

Rutherford Crest's career has included work in the association, non-profit, and government arenas. She spent nearly a decade with Multnomah County Television, serving as assistant and acting general manager for the organization. In the early 1990s, she started her own company offering event planning and management as well as marketing and communications. More recently, she served as communications director for the City of Vancouver.

NATA is a not-for-profit trade association serving more than 600 member businesses including automotive and collision repair shops and automotive recyclers. NATA is based in Portland, serves members in Oregon, Washington and Idaho, and is a partner or affiliate of three national organizations: the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), and the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA).
