Business Tools | Wednesday October 20 NASTF Updates OE Service Information MatrixThe National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) has announced the latest update of the NASTF OE Service Information Matrix, which went online Oct. 18, 2004. The latest update incorporates revisions since the July 2004 update. All automakers have launched service information Web sites and, in many cases, are continuing to add content to them. All the OEM Web sites can be accessed from the NASTF website (then click on “OEM Service Websites”).With the assistance of the International Automotive Technicians’ Network (iATN), the NASTF established the OE Service Information Matrix in 2001. The matrix provides OE company contacts for obtaining service information, training materials and tools. This matrix is updated quarterly and can be accessed at the NASTF website (then click on the “Service Matrix” link). The next quarterly update will be in January 2005. The matrix includes a complaint form if a technician identifies an error in the matrix or has a problem accessing the information being sought. The complaint form can be completed online at www.iatn.net/nastf/#complaint or faxed to NASTF. Complaints are forwarded to the specific OEM for review and resolution. The National Automotive Service Task Force was established in 2000 to facilitate: 1) the identification and correction of gaps in the availability and accessibility of OEM automotive service information; 2) technology training for technicians; 3) availability of both OEM and generic diagnostic tools and equipment; and 4) communication outreach to automotive service professionals. ©2004 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
