APU Solutions Launches Real-Time Alternative Parts Technology for Insurance Carriers and Repair Facilities
APU Solutions has introduced PartsNetwork 5.0 to provide real-time availability and pricing information on both recycled and aftermarket parts the moment a parts request is made. With the release of PartsNetwork 5.0, APU added the real-time recycler component through an exclusive services agreement with Hotlines, Inc., the automotive recycling industry’s communication and parts locating network with more than 1,000 recyclers. These recyclers must meet stringent quality standards to be selected for membership in the growing Hotlines network.“Through our agreement with Hotlines, we’ve solved the problems users have long had with traditional, static database models that typically provide outdated inventory availability and pricing,” said Charles Lukens, president and chief operating officer of APU Solutions. “We now have real-time inventory information for both recycled and aftermarket parts. Having accurate information and instant access to part availability and pricing will save insurance companies millions of dollars per month.”
With Parts Network 5.0, recycler and aftermarket parts supplier inventory availability and pricing is provided in real time and updated instantly as changes occur. APU and Hotlines use a combination of intuitive software, Internet, and satellite technology to immediately match parts requests against recycler inventories, so the potential buyer knows instantly if parts are available and how much they cost.
PartsNetwork 5.0 also allows estimators and body shops to purchase directly from suppliers of their choice through a customized parts supplier network. And with the addition of up-to-the-second information from Hotlines recyclers, parts searches are faster and more accurate than ever before.
