Toyota Collision Repair and Refinish Certification Program and Lexus Recognize I-CAR Training Programs

Selected I-CAR training programs are now recognized by the Toyota Collision Repair and Refinish Certification Program in the United States. Toyota CR&R technicians have the opportunity to complete either the I-CAR programs specifically recognized through this relationship for the Toyota certified level, or attend the Toyota delivered training programs. To gain the Toyota master certification level, both I-CAR and Toyota training programs must be completed.

For Toyota, this relationship will greatly increase the availability and convenience of training on the collision repair of Toyota vehicles as I-CAR has approximately 800 training locations throughout North America. Technicians may have reduced travel expenses and be able to spend less time away from their dealerships and businesses as a greater variety of classes and locations become available.

Selected I-CAR training programs are now recognized by the Lexus Collision Repair & Detail/Refinish Specialist Certification Program in the United States. As a result, this relationship provides Lexus CR&R technicians with the option of completing specifically recognized I-CAR programs, as part of the requirements for obtaining Lexus Senior and Master level certification.

The training relationship will improve training delivery and reduce redundancy for the technician, serving a dual purpose by providing Lexus technicians I-CAR Gold Class Professional and Platinum Individual points for successful program completion as well as helping them qualify for their Lexus Certification. As a result of this recognition, Lexus technicians will have the same inter-industry classroom experience and take the same program post-tests as industry-wide I-CAR students.
