The director of repair management department of AEC Group said that total output value of auto repair industry was about US$4.65 billion in 2003 in China, among which nearly 50 percent was created by Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou city. China is now making rapid strides in auto after-sale market.

According to predictions, China automotive service industry will become a booming market valued at US$23 billion by 2010 and rank 2nd among Asian countries. The huge profit from this industry attracted most of the famous international companies, such as AC DERCO,BOSCH, YELLOWHAT, and AUTO-BACS SEVEN.

The output of Chinese vehicles was over 4 million in 2003. It is predicted that in 2005 the domestic demand for vehicles will be over 5.5 million.

According to professional analysis, the domestic vehicle population by 2010 will reach 56 million, considering the growing speed of 24.5 percent annually of Chinese manufacturing industry. The after-sale market is expanding constantly. Up until 2005, the output of automobile supplies industry only will come up to US$5.1 billion.

It is predicted that the consumption of lubricant will be over 5 million ton, equal to US$4.2 billion this year. For next year, the lubricant consumption for domestic vehicles maintenance will reach US$10.9 billion.

The disputes about vehicles quality are constantly increasing, owing to the difficulties and high expense of vehicle testing. At present, there are about 1,000 vehicle test stations in China. However, only about one percent of them are equipped and qualified for new vehicle testing.

The chief of the information department said that auto electric industry has also come into the high-growing stage. According to predictions, the domestic demand for auto electric products will achieve US$9.21 billion in 2004, and the amount will be over US$12.7 billion in 2005.

Zhang Yuxian, deputy director of the national information center, said that the market demand for auto after-sale products had come up to US$9.7. Foreign entities pay more efforts on purchasing, sale, and service fields, rather than simply on manufacturing as the previous years.

China has become the 4th largest automobile manufacturing country and 3rd largest automobile consuming market.
