2004 Hall of Eagles Inductees Honored at NACE

Scott Biggs, CEO of Assured Performance Network (APN) and Administrator of the Hall of Eagles, has announced the 2004 inductees to the Hall of Eagles, the collision industry’s version of the “Lifetime Achievement” recognition and a type of hall of fame.

Since its creation in 1989, the Hall of Eagles has becoming increasingly viewed as the most prestigious honor any industry professional can receive. Each year only a select few distinguished individuals are added to the list with a 2/3 vote of those previously inducted. The criteria is a recognition for industry professionals that have reached beyond their jobs and self interest to contribute significantly to the betterment of the collision repair industry for an extended period of time. The list of Eagles includes the most influential and dedicated people that have served the industry in the last 20 – 30 years.

This year’s Hall of Eagles induction ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, in Las Vegas just prior to NACE. The 2004 Hall of Eagles inductees representing the growing diversity of those helping to shape and reshape the collision industry include: Kathy Forrey, now deceased, who was a dedicated industry advocate, volunteer and writer; Franny Monaghan of Willowgrove, Penn., owner of Monaghan's Collision and long-time industry outspoken leader championing many causes and defending shops’ interests; Tom Stryker of Stateline, Nev., director of new business development at Motor Information Systems, former shop owner and key behind-the-scenes player; and Ray Travethen, a well-respected, former insurance executive and active voice in the industry bringing both sides of the trading relationship together, and recognizing the needs and challenges of the shop.

The Hall of Eagles is administrated by Scott Biggs, a 1992 inductee and founder of Assured Performance Co-op Network. Biggs was assisted by Bob Matejzel, Rick Tuuri, and Jack Caldwell in honoring and inducting this year’s class with a plaque and Eagle pin presentation.

“I am proud to organize and administer the Hall of Eagles each year, and honored to present each year’s inductees. Sir Isaac Newton said, ‘If I have inspired others, it is on the shoulders of Giants that I have stood,” said Scott Biggs, Founder of Assured Performance Network and Hall of Eagles administrator. “This is a perfect reference to the mentorship and contribution these individuals we call Eagles have given all of us in the collision industry.”
