Self-Study Guides for ASE Certification Available Through ASA Website

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) fully supports professional certification through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). To that end, ASA has created a special section within its website to help automotive service professionals achieve the ASE certification they need to succeed in this industry.

Through an arrangement with Motor Age Training, ASA offers 22 self-study guides for almost all areas of certification. Written and published by Motor Age Training, these guides provide valuable information to help industry professionals complete their certification.

Study guides are available in the following areas:

  • Automotive/Light Truck
  • Collision Repair/Refinish
  • Engine Machinist
  • Parts Specialist
  • Advanced Level (L1)

In addition, Motor Age Training offers the following study guides and reference material:

  • OBD II - DVD or videotapes
  • Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • Exhaust Systems
  • Automotive Service Consultant
  • Automotive Service Glossary

Anyone purchasing the guides through the ASA website will receive a 15 percent discount off their order. To purchase the guides, go to ASA's website and click on the ASE Study Guides button in the right column. ASA members can also purchase guides offline by completing an order form located in their member binders, or by contacting the ASA Membership Department.

"Continuous training helps the technicians at ASA member-businesses to be the best in the industry," said John Scully, AAM, ASA executive vice president. "ASA is a strong supporter of ASE certification. It not only advances the industry as a whole, but also helps consumers recognize the high level of skill required of today's technicians."
