Business Tools | Tuesday December 28 ASE Website Upgrade Adds TutorialsThe National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has enhanced the value of its website at www.ase.com by developing five interactive tutorials for consumers and automotive professionals. The multimedia tutorials, produced in Macromedia Flash, can be played online or stored locally for offline play. The tutorials cover several different categories of general information related to ASE and its programs, and are slanted towards specific audiences.The tutorials include:
In related news, ASE also announced that the myASE feature of ase.com is generating strong interest and acceptance by service professionals. With myASE, certified professionals can view their certification status and test history online, update personal information such as mailing address, phone number, e-mail address and more. Devbelopment work continues to allow users to customize their ASE Internet experience according to personal expertise and preferences. Introduced in March of 2004, myASE has already garnered more than 32,000 registered users. Bill Bergen, Associate Dean of Product and Technical Education, University of Toyota, has been elected as Chairman of the ASE Board of Directors for 2005. “We are pleased to have someone of Bill’s caliber as Chairman,” said Ron Weiner, ASE President. “Both Bill and Toyota have demonstrated a commitment to ASE and the industry at large time and again over the years and Toyota remains one of the biggest supporters of the ASE program. We congratulate Bill and look forward to working with him over the next year.” In addition to Bergen, other ASE officials elected included Vice Chairman Mike Hyatt, Director of Training for Nissan; Treasurer Stan Elmore, President of Stan’s Tire and Auto, Lafayette, Co.; and Secretary Joe Torchiana, Owner of One Stop Tire and Auto Service, Inc., West Chester, PA. Incorporated on June 12, 1972, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was established as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists.
