OEConnection Introduces LinkIQ Toolset for Parts Information

OEConnection LLC has announced an expansion of its technology platform to include parts intelligence for the automotive community. Leading this initiative is the introduction of LinkIQ, a multi-layered parts intelligence tool targeted to the advanced information needs of original equipment manufacturers (OEM), new car franchise dealers, collision repair consolidators and franchisors, insurers, and installer and fleet managers.

LinkIQ, in synergy with the company's D2DLink(R) and CollisionLink(R) e-business parts procurement and logistic solutions, assembles a comprehensive and powerful original equipment parts information repository offering diverse participants in the automotive business a tool for insightful analysis and individual proactive marketing, management, and movement of in-channel OE parts.

Chuck Rotuno, President and CEO, commented, "LinkIQ is a natural extension of our domain expertise. We support more than 11,000 dealerships and collision repairers who depend on our products for 100,000 parts decisions daily. By aggregating available information related to these decisions, LinkIQ can offer value to an ever-expanding base of parts decision-makers from providing in-channel availability to OEMs for obsolescence planning to helping a dealer right-size inventory for improved service and increased sales opportunities. We're just scratching the surface of the individualized business questions we believe LinkIQ can help address."

The initial solution set will offer an OEM, and its field organization, critical visibility into in-channel parts availability and movement, helping to enable more informed decision-making for service parts management and backorder fulfillment, optimum stocking levels and idle parts control, product life cycle planning and recall support, and pricing and promotions. Dealer- centric designs offer inventory and sales data with the opportunity for comprehensive analysis including enhanced stocking support based on the multi- dimensional factors of aggregate purchase behavior and trending; advertised discount activity of aged inventory; relative idle inventory and valuation based on list pricing; and detailed analysis of missed sales opportunities offering parts managers new intelligence of potential incremental sales.

Mark Tomasetti, Vice President of Emerging Products and Markets, added, "In any business, trying to control what you cannot see is sure to result in a less-than-desired outcome. With today's emphasis on leaner, just-in-time inventories, LinkIQ provides the tools enabling greater parts control, visibility, and insight to help a user make smart decisions fast."

Supported by an SQL database with an initial build of over one terabyte of in-channel OE parts availability and movement, Link IQ can also incorporate additional user-specific information for enhanced custom tailoring.

OEConnection serves over 11,000 franchised auto dealerships and collision repair facilities with web-based technology solutions that help improve efficiencies, increase customer satisfaction, and drive original equipment replacement parts sales. OEConnection is headquartered in Richfield, Ohio and is a joint venture of DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and ProQuest Company.
