CAPA Announces New Board of Directors and Technical Committee

The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) has announced the members of its Board of Directors and Technical Committee. Both groups are comprised of a cross-section of industries that are relevant to aftermarket parts, including manufacturers, distributors, insurers, collision repairers, consumer and general interest groups.

The CAPA Board of Directors, which sets CAPA policies and oversees the program, includes:

  • Bob Anderson, Anderson’s Automotive Service (Chairman)
  • John Edelen, Allstate Insurance
  • Jackie Gillan, Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety
  • Jack Gillis, CAPA
  • Carl Hartman, Keystone
  • Robert Hurns, Property Casualty Insurers Association of America
  • Don Keenan, Joseph T. Keenan & Sons, Inc.
  • Jerry Kottschade, Jerry’s Body Shop, Inc.
  • Brian O’Connor, Liberty Mutual Insurance
  • Rich Rosenthal, USAA
  • Bill Smeal, Choice Bumper, Inc.
  • Maureen Willett, State Farm Mutual Insurance Co.

The CAPA Technical Committee develops and maintains the CAPA Quality Standards. They review and refine the Standards in order to set the quality requirements that CAPA manufacturers must achieve in order to certify their parts. The Technical Committee members include:
