FirstSalvage Inc. Awarded Small Business Grant from the Chicago West Side Entrepreneurship Center

FirstSalvage Inc. has been awarded a grant designed to assist high-growth-potential Chicago businesses from the Chicago West Side Entrepreneurship Center (CWSEC), as part of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Entrepreneurship Centers Grant program, Opportunity Returns. The award requires 100 percent matching funds from FirstSalvage Inc. and will be used for customer acquisition purposes.

“This underscores that Chicago can be a leader with growing start-up companies, said Michael T. Quintos, President and CEO of FirstSalvage Inc. “With seventy percent of all new jobs coming from small business, I applaud the CWSEC which has committed to this goal and I am excited about the approval of the business opportunity by such a distinguished panel.”

“FirstSalvage has a unique technology-based product line for auto insurance companies. We are happy to assist FirstSalvage with this grant,” said Susan Alnaqib, Director of the CWSEC. “The Illinois DCEO and the CWSEC recognize that some of the largest insurance providers are based right here in Illinois, and that is good for business.”

First Salvage delivers a Web-based software solution addressing the specific needs of the Property & Casualty insurance industry and its many trading partners involved in title compliance, salvage asset management, and parts ordering. The company was founded and is led by claims industry veteran Michael Quintos who has 12 years experience in the auto claims market.

The CWSEC was founded in June 2003 by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) to serve as a catalyst for high-growth potential small and medium-sized business enterprises to develop into economically viable and sustainable companies that will grow and create jobs in Illinois. CWSEC offers comprehensive professional services, business planning assistance for start-up companies and awards grants to assist high-growth-potential Chicago businesses. CWSEC partners with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and Chicago Community Ventures (CCV).
