DCR Systems Selects Summit Software for Shop and Repair Network Management Software

Summit Software Solutions, Inc. and DCR Systems have announced that they have completed the initial implementation of Summit’s CollisionRepairNet(TM) collision shop and repair network management software, into DCR's first collision repair facility in Mentor, Ohio.

Frank Terlep, President of Summit stated, “Being selected as the shop and repair network management software provider by the DCR Systems management team is extremely gratifying for everyone on the Summit team. Their very high standards and unique, patent-pending operating model challenged us to deliver a solution that was not only easy to use and understand but had the flexibility to integrate into a new collision repair business model.”

According to Summit Software this particular implementation of their CollisionRepairNet(TM) shop and repair network management software includes custom software development combined with a unique configuration of its RPM(TM) advanced production management software module.

Michael Giarrizo, Jr., President and CEO of DCR System, commented, “We have utilized technology in every collision repair business we have been involved in and knew going into this opportunity we had to find the right solution and company that could fit our unique model. Summit’s technology supports our unique operating model at the shop level, provides us with a platform to grow nationally, plus offers us the opportunity to continually improve our operating model through their unique software personalization model.”

DCR Systems is owned by the Giarrizzo family, operated Cleveland-based JSI Collision Centers, which they established in 1946. JSI grew from a single location to a four-store chain in northeast Ohio with annual sales of $12 million, and was twice recognized by the industry as “Collision Business of the Year” for its customer service and standardized operating procedures. The business was acquired in 1999 by Sterling Autobody Centers and four years later grew to 39 locations. In 2001 Allstate Insurance Company acquired Sterling, and Michael Giarrizzo Jr. took the position of Chief Operating Officer. While leading operations, Giarrizzo grew the company by establishing an additional 21 “greenfield” stores in just two years.

Giarrizzo subsequently left his position in 2003 to start DCR Systems with the vision of changing the collision repair industry and returning a body shop revenue stream to dealers seeking to retain loyal customers by providing ancillary customer care services.

Summit Software Solutions, Inc. is a business-to-business information technology provider that delivers information and communication management solutions to auto and truck collision repair businesses and repair networks.
