AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard to Shed Light on International Auto Industry

"The AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard is a unique product," said Marianne McInerney, AIADA President. "Until now, knowledge about the operational performance of international nameplate auto dealerships was relatively limited. Now we have in-depth, real-time knowledge about their operations and how they compare to those of American nameplates."

The AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard presents aggregate data as the profile of an "average" international auto dealership. The data is weighted to reflect dealership representation in the marketplace. Most data presented in the AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard parallels that collected by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) for its monthly Average Dealership Profile, which is also weighted according to market representation. The AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard will be available a month and a half after month-end, presenting a robust gauge of industry performance.

The AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard is a collaboration between AIADA and NCM Associates, the operator of 20 Groups, which bring together automobile dealers for best practices analysis. Through an agreement with AIADA members, NCM collects international nameplate dealership operational performance data on a monthly basis. NCM provides AIADA with aggregate operational data, ensuring that participating dealerships’ operational data is confidential.

"The AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard is a valuable tool and resource for the international dealer body," said Tony Noland, President of NCM Associates. "Using this almost real time data, dealers will now be able to compare and measure their operations with an average international auto dealership profile. Dealers will quickly recognize the increased value of this tool as we expand this product and information. We are honored and excited to be working with AIADA to provide this valuable service to the industry."

At present, iDealer Dashboard includes data from the following manufacturers: Acura, Audi, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota (including Scion franchises), and Volkswagen. AIADA will be reaching out to its entire membership in the coming months to encourage full participation.

"The data presented in the AIADA-NCM iDealer Dashboard is only the tip of the iceberg," said McInerney. "Through our partnership with NCM, in the future we hope to provide month-by-month analysis, supplemented by regional and linemake trends as well as interesting items such as average dealership SUV sales or monthly legal fees. This is a boon not only for the public’s understanding of this vibrant industry, but for our members and their interests on Capitol Hill."
