Business Tools | Wednesday May 18 Kirmac Collision Services Expands in Washington StateThe Kirmac Group’s wholly owned US subsidiary, Kirmac Automotive Collision Systems (US) Inc., has acquired the assets of Thoroughbred Inc., a chain of six collision repair shops located within the greater Seattle area. This will bring Kirmac to a total of 17 locations including a previous U.S. location in Auburn, Washington and ten locations in Vancouver, British Columbia.Commenting on the transaction, Kirmac President & CEO Ian McIntosh said, “This is just the first step in our plans to establish a significantly larger presence for Kirmac in both Washington State and British Columbia. With the expanded locations, customer base, and insurance partner relationships, backstopped by the power of Kirmac’s back-office administration and repair systems, I know we will be an industry force to be reckoned with as we bring the most efficient and cost effective repair solutions to our customers and insurance partners throughout the Puget Sound and British Columbia.” Since the late 1980’s, Kirmac has been developing its multi-location business model which focuses on moving administration out of the repair center in order to concentrate its store management and technical repair teams on servicing customers and repairing collision damaged vehicles. In order to effectively execute on this business model Kirmac utilizes an on-line platform of back-office systems which provides centralized administration of Invoicing, Banking, Payroll, HR, and all Accounting functions with further support for Store Operations, Vendor Management, Insurance Relations, and Marketing. “These are just a sampling of the strengths we can immediately bring to the Thoroughbred organization and I am very excited about our prospects for the future,” concluded McIntosh. ©2005 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
