Reynolds and Reynolds Certifies Mitchell ABS Shop Management System in Canada

Mitchell International's shop management system, ABS(TM), has been certified by The Reynolds and Reynolds Company to interface with its ERA(TM) dealership management system in Canada. Five distinct interfaces (Customer, Vehicle, Service, Finance, Parts) help connect ABS and the ERA system together, streamlining workflow throughout the entire operation.

The continuous, two-way flow of information between ABS and the Reynolds ERA system - repair order totals, parts and labor data, and customer and vehicle data - creates a single, integrated, multifunctional management tool that bridges collision repairers and dealerships, eliminating redundant lookup and data-entry operations for users at both ends.

Certification by Reynolds and Reynolds is more than a simple acknowledgement that the two platforms exchange data. It ensures critical information interchanged between ABS and the ERA system won’t be compromised by the interface through which it’s transmitted, underwritten by a thorough technical evaluation conducted by Reynolds and Reynolds.

“Certification is not something we take lightly,” said Robert Schaefer, technical director of Data Services at Reynolds and Reynolds. “Our customers depend on the accurate and uninterrupted flow of information to conduct their business. The ABS/ERA interface underwent an extensive period of evaluation and testing to detect any technical issues and has met our stringent guidelines.”

Gavin Barrowman, Vice President of Myers Cadillac Chevrolet in Ottawa, Ontario, commented, "The ABS/ERA interface has certainly enhanced our productivity. Rather than re-keying data in the Accounting and Parts Departments, our staff is now able to focus on other areas of our business, and along with ERA, we always have critical information in the vehicle history file.”
