Mark Wagner Named Sales Director of DuPont Refinish Americas

Mark A. Wagner, global business manager- Ford, DuPont Automotive Systems, has been promoted to North American collision sales director, Refinish Americas. He replaces John P. Gallagher, who has been promoted to North American regional business director for DuPont Titanium Technologies.

Wagner has worked in the automotive finishes business throughout his 20-year DuPont career. Upon graduation from the University of Michigan in 1985, he joined DuPont’s Troy, Mich. Laboratory as a chemist, where he worked on waterborne technology. He was subsequently assigned to DuPont’s joint venture with Kansai Automotive Coatings and Toyota, and then to the Mt. Clemens, Mich. paint plant, which DuPont acquired from Ford.

After becoming a product specialist for the Ford account, Wagner was promoted in 1994 to product manager for the General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, BMW, and Mercedes businesses.

In 1999, he was named global product manager for the DuPont Herberts Automotive Systems business, and a year later he was promoted to Global Business Manager- Ford, DuPont Automotive Systems. In three of the four years he has held that position, DuPont Automotive Coatings received Ford’s World Excellence Award. Last year, his team also received the Henry Ford Technology Award and the Automotive News Pace Award for DuPont's Wet on Wet Two Tone paint system, which allowed Ford to meet market demand for its highest margin pickups.

Wagner and his family will relocate from Troy to DuPont's Wilmington, Del.headquarters, where he will report to Raymond G. Anderson, director, Refinish Americas.
