Copart Sued by Manheim for Patent Infringement Claim
Copart, Inc. has been named in a suit filed by Manheim Services Corp. in the United States District Court in the Northern District of Georgia alleging that Copart online auction services infringes on a certain patent claimed to be owned by Manheim.Copart said that the company's preliminary assessment is that the complaint is without merit. Copart intends to vigorously defend its position.
Copart, founded in 1982, provides vehicle suppliers, primarily insurance companies, with a full range of services to process and sell salvage vehicles through auctions, principally to licensed dismantlers, rebuilders and used vehicle dealers. The company operates 113 facilities in the United States and Canada.
