Valspar Names Director Thomas McBurney Non-Executive Chairman
Valspar Corp., a maker of coatings and paints for auto and food-packaging companies, has named director Thomas R. McBurney as non-executive chairman, replacing Richard M. Rompala who is retiring after serving seven years as chairman and ten years as CEO.McBurney, 67, has been a member of the Valspar board since 1987. He is president of McBurney Management Advisors and also serves on the boards of Wenger Corp., Meritex Enterprises, Inc., American Express Certificate Co., Transport Corporation of America Inc. and Greenspring Cos.
As previously announced, William L. Mansfield was elected president and CEO to succeed Rompala back in February.
