DuPont Hot Hues Receives Goodguys Product of the Year Award

The DuPont Hot Hues(TM) Hot Candy Colors dye concentrates line was named New Product of the Year at the 8th Annual Goodguys PPG Nationals held in Columbus, Ohio, on July 8-10. The award was for the Best Paint or Car Care Product category.

The 8th annual Goodguys PPG Rod & Custom Nationals event attracted more than 6,000 hot rods, custom cars, classics, muscle cars and street machines to the Ohio Expo Center. The pre-1972 car show is one of the nation’s largest automotive gatherings. The Hot Hues trailer display featured 12 vehicles finished with Hot Hues products. Seven of them were selected as award winners for Pros Pick, an arena showcasing the finest 250 vehicles at the show. Of those seven, a 1969 Camaro owned by Steve Cook of Oklahoma City, Okla., and a 1970 Dodge Challenger built by Bobby Alloway of Louisville, Tenn., were selected as two of the top five finalists for the 2005 Goodguys/Baer Brakes Street Machine of the Year award. Both vehicles were finished exclusively with Hot Hues Custom Finishes.

The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association was founded in 1983, and is a national leader in producing and promoting exciting events for automotive enthusiasts. As an association, Goodguys is a fellowship of hot rod enthusiasts featuring over 70,000 members worldwide. As an automotive event promoter, Goodguys presents 24 annual events across the country from New York to Florida, from San Diego to Seattle and all points in between.

The events range from two-day affairs attended by 20,000 to 25,000 people to three- and four-day extravaganzas attracting over 100,000 auto enthusiasts. The events are diverse and cater to many different groups of auto enthusiasts.
