Business Tools | Monday August 15 Northwood University Announces New HDA Parts Network Scholarship for Aftermarket StudentsHD America Parts Network (HDA) has teamed with Northwood University to create a scholarship fund in memory of HDA founding members Jim Burke Sr. and Pete Bley of the heavy duty aftermarket industry.Pat Biermann, president of HDA said, "Earlier this year we lost two of the industry’s best, Jim Burke Sr. from Denver, Colorado (DriveTrain Ind.) and Pete Bley from St. Louis, Missouri (Tractor Trailer Supply). It was only fitting that we partner with Northwood University to create a scholarship fund for the Heavy-Duty Aftermarket Industry course of study. These gentlemen were firm believers in teaching and training. This scholarship is being totally funded by suppliers, distributors and friends of the heavy duty industry in support of these two founding members”. The scholarship will be awarded annually to qualified students attending any one of Northwood University’s three campuses located in Midland, Michigan; West Palm Beach, Florida; or Cedar Hill, Texas; who are majoring in Aftermarket/Management. For information regarding this scholarship please contact Dixie Maxwell, Director, Private Donor Scholarships, Northwood University, 4000 Whiting Drive, Midland, MI 48640-2398 or telephone (989)837-4160. Northwood University specializes in management and entrepreneurial education. The role of Northwood University is to develop the management skills of those individuals who want to take advantage of the opportunities available in the aftermarket industry. Northwood University is the only university that offers a degree in Aftermarket Management. ©2005 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
