Business Tools | Wednesday September 21 Independent Appraiser Doan and Company to Pilot EMSReviewDoan and Company Auto Appraising has begun a pilot use of EMSReview, from Decision Support Services, Inc. (DSS), to help their staff stay in compliance with its insurance clients’ estimating rules.EMSReview audits collision estimates for compliance with insurance rules on the appraiser’s laptop, so the appraiser can check the work before uploading it to the insurance company. The audit checks the estimate for compliance with rates, required administrative data and line items, aftermarket parts usage, pricing violations, and other insurer business rules. “Trying to stay in compliance with our insurance clients’ different rules is a real challenge,” explained Western Region VP Dana Martini. “Our appraisers may write eight different estimates for eight different carriers in one day, so it is easy to make a mistake. We take pride in our quality and have a manual series of reviews to ensure we catch any errors. EMSReview will enable field appraisers to easily check their work before they upload it to our main office for review.” “We are very excited to begin a pilot with Doan,” said DSS Inc. CEO Steve Siessman. “We look forward to helping them enhance their productivity and quality. Independent appraisers and shops have many of the same challenges – whether it’s remembering to charge betterment or following the pricing guidelines for flex additive and other materials charges.” Decision Support Services, Inc. was founded in 2001 to help improve the estimating and adjusting process by enabling shops and insurers to write complete and compliant estimates. Doan & Co. provides services to over 400 clients including insurance companies, TPAs, MGAs, leasing and rental agencies, mechanical warranty companies, claims and adjusting companies, and self-insured entities. Doan provides damage appraisals on automobiles, light trucks, property, over-the-road trucks, all forms of heavy equipment, recreational vehicles, and marine. ©2005 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
