Collision Repair Industry Offers Employment, Housing, and Aid to Families Affected by Hurricane Katrina

The Collision Industry Relief Effort is offering assistance, employment and housing across the country to many of the more than 10,000 affected families from the industry in the Gulf Region.

"If you are, or know anyone, who was employed in the collision repair industry affected by hurricane Katrina who is interested in temporary or permanent employment and/or housing, in any area of the country, or any type of assistance, please call Toll Free at 888-66-PRIDE or visit our web site www.collisionindustryrelief.com," said spokesman Stephen Regan.

Also, hundreds of offers of housing, employment and cash donations to assist with transportation, food, clothing and even purchasing replacement tools technicians lost in the storm, have been pledged through the above web site, or to the NABC headquarters in Virginia. "If you are part of the collision repair industry and would like to help we ask that you go to the web site above to register your offer of assistance. One hundred percent of your donations to the Collision Industry Relief Effort will go to families in our industry affected by Katrina," he added.

While many large companies like Wal-Mart, CVS and others have appropriately offered relocation and employment assistance to displaced employees, most collision repair businesses are small independent businesses without such resources. This offer to assist collision industry families get employment and housing will reduce some of the burden for the many wonderful organizations currently providing assistance.

"The collision repair industry often refers to itself as one big family," said Regan, "and when your family members are in trouble you help them out."

In addition to the NABC and CIF the Society of Collision Repair Specialist (SCRS), Automotive Services Association (ASA) and the Association of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) are assisting this unprecedented effort. The Collision Industry Foundation is an IRS approved 501c (3).
