Two Southern California Collision Shops Team Up to Raise $39,000 for Hurricane Katrina Relief

Marco’s Auto Body and Seidner’s Collision Centers, located in southern California, have joined forces to help survivors of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Together they raised $39,172.

The 160 employees at Marco’s Auto Body raised over $5,000. Their company matched their donations and then the owners also matched for a total of $15,097, which was split between the Red Cross, Save the Children, and The Collision Industry Relief Foundation.

During a brief meeting between Steve Seidner, owner of Seidner’s Collision Centers, and Lillian Maimone, owner of Marco’s Auto Body, Maimone suggested that the two companies combine efforts to help in this tremendous relief effort.

“The Katrina Survivors need so much help that our company’s donation seemed like pennies to offer,” Maimone said. “That is why I contacted Steve Seidner. Together, our matches to the hundreds of employees that would like to contribute their hearts and wallets could make a difference.”

“Our employee’s have dug deep into their pockets to help the American Red Cross Relief Fund for Hurricane Katrina Survivors,” said Seidner. “Our company team members shared the same response as Marco’s Auto Body staff and so my brothers and I matched 100% of the total amount of money donated by our team members and our company matched another 100 percent for a total of $24,075.”

Marco’s Auto Body is a family owned business since 1972 with six locations in the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valley.

Seidner’s Collision Center is a 41-year-old family owned business with 10 locations in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire communities of Southern California.
