Arizona Governor Declares Automotive Recycling Week During ARA Convention

Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano proclaimed September 18-24, 2005, Automotive Recycling Week, in conjunction with the Automotive Recyclers Association's (ARA) 62nd Annual Convention and Exposition in Tucson, Arizona, September 21-24. Many of the premier automotive recyclers from the U.S., Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia convened there for three days of educational seminars and a trade show.

ARA’s educational sessions addressed issues such as salvage availability, customer satisfaction, estate taxes, today’s hazardous vehicles, human resource issues, management control, marketing, sales, legislative concerns, government incentives, and the ELV (End of Life Vehicle) Directive in Europe.

The convention was capped off with a closing banquet on Saturday evening where retiring regional directors, committee chairs, sponsors and industry luminaries were honored and recognized for their efforts and contributions to the automotive recycling industry.

Founded in 1943, the Automotive Recyclers Association represents an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of automotive parts, and the proper disposal of inoperable motor vehicles.
