BASF Names Juan Carlos Ordoņez Vice President of Automotive Refinish Solutions in North America
Juan Carlos Ordoņez has been named Vice President, BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions business unit in North America, headquartered in Southfield, Mich. The appointment was effective October 1, 2005.In his new position, Ordoņez will be responsible for all aspects of BASFs automotive refinish coatings business in Canada, Mexico and the United States. He replaces Albert Winterman, who retired as Vice President of the Refinish business in April 2005.
Prior to his latest appointment, Ordoņez was in charge of BASFs Decorative Coatings business in South America and was based in Brazil.
A native of Colombia, Ordoņez joined BASF in 1982. Since then he has held numerous management positions in North America and South America, and has served assignments in Germany.
Ordoņez holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of the Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. He is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
