Business Tools | Tuesday October 18 CEI Named one of PA’s Best Places to WorkThe CEI Group, Inc. (CEI) has been named a winner in the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania 2005 award program, the second time it has been honored by the state-wide program.CEI was named one of the 50 best mid-sized employers in the state, comprising companies between 25 and 250 employees. Headquartered in the Bucks County Technology Center in Trevose, Pennsylvania, CEI last won the award in 2003. “We’re very honored to have received this designation once again,” said Wayne Smolda, CEI’s founder and chief executive officer. “Creating and maintaining an environment where people want to work and give their best is a key component of our business strategy.” In 2004, CEI also won the Pennsylvania Psychological Association’s Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award for its “commitment to the psychological health and well-being of its employees.” CEI is a global provider of accident management services and driver risk management and safety services to large, self-insured vehicle fleets and property-casualty insurance companies. The Best Places to Work annual award program, created in 2000, is sponsored by a partnership between the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, the Central Penn Business Journal, the Best Companies Group and the Team Pennsylvania Foundation. It also cites 50 large companies, for a total of 100 best places to work each year. The award is based on an employer-level survey of employment and work-place practices, and a survey of each company’s employees. The employee survey results count for 75 percent of each company’s contest score.
