ARA Awarded Grant Extension to Host ECAR Center Website

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently awarded the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) a $300,000 grant over a five year period to administer, develop and market the ECAR Center website, www.ecarcenter.org. Selected over other organizations submitting proposals to administer the site, ARA will continue to post updates and new state, local and federal environmental rules and regulations to the ECAR Center website as they become available.

EPA recommendations for the coming year concerning the ECAR Center are to develop more reporting mechanisms and to market the site so more recycling facilities become aware of its presence and the wealth of environmental information and compliance issues it contains.

The ECAR Center website is the home site for listing all environmental compliance issues, state and federal, for auto recyclers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Parties interested in discovering environmental compliance regulations in their area are encouraged to visit often and use the ECAR Center website, www.ecarcenter.org.

Founded in 1943, the Automotive Recyclers Association represents an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of automotive parts, and the proper disposal of inoperable motor vehicles.
