Safeco Names Paula Rosput Reynolds CEO
Property and casualty insurance company Safeco Corp. has named Paula Rosput Reynolds its president and chief executive effective Jan. 1, replacing Mike McGavick, who is resigning to run for the Senate.McGavick resigned to run for a seat in the U.S. Senate representing Washington State.
Reynolds, 49, is leaving her position as CEO, president and chairwoman at AGL Resources Inc., an Atlanta-based energy holding company.
She was also appointed to the company's board, Safeco said.
In addition, Safeco said its board elected Joseph W. Brown, 56, as its non-executive chairman. Brown has served on the company's board since 2001.
