Service King Golf Tournament Benefits Make-A-Wish Foundation

Service King Collision Repair Centers raised $47,500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas at the company's 11th Annual Golf Tournament on October 20th and 21st at the Golf Club at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas.

This is the second year that the Service King Golf Tournament is benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. The foundation is devoted to granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

"With the help of our insurance and dealer partners, suppliers and friends, the Annual Golf Tournament has given over a hundred thousand dollars to charities over the past eleven years, said Eddie Lennox, Service King CEO. "This year we raised $6,400 more than last year's charitable donation. We're pleased that we are able to give back to the children and families of our local community."

The foundation operates 72 chapters in the United States and serves children in 64 counties in North Texas. For the September 2004 to August 2005 fiscal year, the foundation granted a "record-breaking" 306 wishes in North Texas. Of every dollar collected, 88 cents is used to grant wishes.

"We are dependent on people's generosity," said Heather Kraus, Director of Development of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. "We're very proud of that. Service King creates an atmosphere of philanthropy that will make a difference in the lives of children and their families. Service King is a great organization, very professional, and dedicated to what we do at the Foundation."

Next year's annual golf tournament is in celebration of Service King's 30th year in business and is scheduled for Monday, August 28, 2006 at the Dallas Athletic Club.

Owner Eddie Lennox founded Service King in December of 1976 with one location in Dallas. Today, Service King is the largest paint and body operation in the area, with 17 collision repair centers. It is one of the top independently owned and operated collision repair organizations in the United States.
