Gordon Certifies Lights to CAPA 301 Lighting Standard

The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) has announced that Gordon Auto Body Parts Co., Ltd. has certified two of their parts (headlamps for the Chevrolet Silverado, 1999-02 and Chevrolet Suburban, 2000-05) to the CAPA Lighting Standard 301. Gordon is the largest supplier of CAPA certified parts in the U.S. market and these parts are their first offering in automotive lighting.

“By expanding their manufacturing efforts to include quality automotive lighting, Gordon has demonstrated that they are willing to meet the demand of the collision repair industry for CAPA certified lighting,” said Jack Gillis, Executive Director of CAPA. “Gordon is committed to 100 percent certification of its lighting products which reinforces the company's long time commitment to quality in the metal and plastic parts arena."

In order to achieve CAPA certification, lighting products must pass comprehensive testing for fit, form, appearance, composition, coating performance, mechanical properties, adhesives, fasteners, hardware, photometric performance, electrical performance, aiming performance and compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108. CAPA 301 requirements also call for demonstrated ongoing compliance to all of these requirements, including FMVSS 108.
