Business Tools | Friday January 13 Automotive Service Councils of California Elects Daniel Fogle New PresidentLos Angeles County business owner, Daniel Fogle, of Quality Automotive, was elected President of the Automotive Service Councils of California (ASCCA) during their 65th annual meeting and elections in October 2005 in Monterey, California.“I look forward to serving our industry in the coming year and making great strides in increasing the professionalism of our trade,” stated Fogle. “I am fortunate to be surrounded by a tremendous and dedicated Executive Director, Association Staff, and Board of Directors, and I know this year will be momentous for me personally and for our industry.” Founded in 1940, the ASCCA is a statewide non-profit trade organization representing over 1800 professional independent automotive repair facilities. Headquartered in Sacramento, California, ASCCA’s mission is to elevate and unite automotive professionals, and give them voice. Quality Automotive was established in 1981 by Fogle and his wife Suzie. The facility has three employees and performs routine maintenance, brake service, cooling service, and oil and filter services on predominantly American and Asian cars and light trucks, as well as provides fleet service. “The automotive repair industry faces significant and growing challenges due to the lack of qualified repair technicians available to shop owners,” continued Fogle. “This is an issue that we, as shop owners, already face but one that will get considerable worse if significant changes are not made by the Legislature to improve vocational education and training within our public schools and community colleges. To this affect, ASCCA’s long range strategic planning for 2006 is a significant step in achieving those goals.” Fogle assumed the presidency of ASCCA on January 1, 2006 and will serve a one-year term. ©2006 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
