Y.C.C. Joins CAPA Lighting Program

Y.C.C. Parts Manufacturing Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chung Hua Hsien, Taiwan, has joined the Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) Lighting program.

Founded in 1986, Y.C.C. manufactures automotive plastic parts and lighting for the North and South American, European, and Asian markets. Y.C.C. became a Full Participant in the CAPA program in 1999. Y.C.C.’s lighting parts will be marketed as “Sunny, by Y.C.C.”

“Y.C.C. has demonstrated that they are willing to meet the collision repair industry’s demand for CAPA certified lights by expanding their manufacturing efforts to include quality automotive lighting,” said Jack Gillis, Executive Director of CAPA. “Y.C.C. is committed to certification of their lighting products which reinforces their previous commitment to quality in the plastic parts arena.”

“As more and more insurers decide that CAPA certified lighting is an excellent way to protect their policy holders from both poor quality and overpriced repair parts, Y.C.C.’s decision to build parts that meet CAPA’s exacting standards will be an important ingredient in their future success,” said Gillis.

In order for a lamp to become CAPA certified, it must be validated through CAPA’s independent, third-party testing to determine that it passes FMVSS 108, meets CAPA’s requirements for structural and material comparability to its car company counterpart, and properly fits on a vehicle.
