i-SHOP Certifies EASE PC Scan Tool for Aftermarket Industry

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has announced the certification of EASE Diagnostics' "PC Professional Scan Tool Application Version 5" to the Version 2 i-SHOP Standards. The EASE PC-based Scan Tool now conforms to all i-SHOP criteria as a client in the networked shop environment, providing integration to i-SHOP certified shop management and information systems.

"The benefit to shop owners and technicians is improved efficiencies in shop operations by passing information and data seamlessly between the shop management system and the EASE Scan Tool Application," said Scott Luckett, AAIA vice president, technology standards and solutions. "Automatic pass through of an AAIA vehicle ID to information servers means reduced time and keying errors of the vehicle year, make and model."

With the certification of the EASE Version 5 PC Scan Tool as i-SHOP compatible, all information, including diagnostic test results, is now stored and readily available in the same database as invoices, work orders, TSBs, technician notes, special instructions, maintenance history, or any other stored information about the customer – all without the need for duplicate data entry – at the click of a mouse, according to AAIA.

"EASE Diagnostics is proud to be a part of this exciting technology that helps today's automotive technician perform their jobs faster, more efficiently and more profitably than they ever could in the past," said Stephen Golenski, president and CEO, EASE Diagnostics.

i-SHOP is a communication standard for automotive shop equipment, sponsored by AAIA and written by member shop equipment companies. The standard enables seamless integration of data and information between back shop clients and front shop servers.

EASE Diagnostics, located in Olyphant, PA, provides innovative product development for the automotive diagnostics industry.
