Klode Rolls Out Real-Time Live E-Bid System

Klode Salvage Distribution Center, Inc. has rolled out its new e-bid system. The proprietary bidding software broadcasts the live auction over the internet in real time, enabling the online customer to bid interactively with buyers on the ground at the sale, as well as with other online bidders.

“Our system is especially user-friendly, and introduces a number of unique features. There are absolutely no plug-ins or downloads needed. We’ve removed that complexity, so that our customers can just fire up their browsers and go,” said Klode CEO Rick Dendorfer. “While most systems require a cut-off of proxy bids an hour or more prior to the beginning of the auction, our e-bid accommodates proxy bidding during the auction right up to the point that a vehicle is offered for sale. This flexibility provides the Klode buyer an unrivaled level of convenience.”

“In addition to ease of use, the system offers our customers peace of mind,” Dendorfer continued. “Klode buyers have the assurance that the system does not permit them to accidentally bid against themselves and the auction team does not have access to the high proxy bid – the top two issues with our bidder focus groups.”

Other innovations include: eight expandable images for each vehicle; single-click capability for full-sale listing of vehicles sold; and the ability to view images of vehicles still pending in the auction with a single click. Customers can also track sale performance of inventory from their watch or bid lists post-auction.

A new version is in testing for Klode’s Spanish language customers. Additionally, the company is testing another version that will allow participation by dial-up users.

Klode Salvage Distribution Center, Inc., founded in 1965, is a high-volume independent salvage auction company headquartered in the Denver market. The company operates a Heavy Equipment Division and has additional facilities in Montrose, Colorado, and Casper, Wyoming.
