DCR Systems/Classic Auto Group Complete Accident Repair Campus

Mentor, Ohio-based DCR Systems and Classic Auto Group have completed construction on the final phase of an auto collision repair campus that is the largest accident repair facility of its kind in Northern Ohio.

The DCR Systems/Classic Accident Repair Campus will serve as the premier repair facility for Classic’s 24 auto dealerships, employing 40 technicians, service personnel, and administrative staff.

The campus features three individual 12,000-square-foot operating cells that implement a patent-pending repair process developed by DCR Systems, which the company considers a fundamental breakthrough in the collision repair industry.

Utilizing “lean manufacturing” principles in its approach to collision repair, the DCR process employs task-specific, skilled technicians working with cutting-edge equipment and tooling. The model is designed to streamline workflow and enable the repair operation to offer consistency in guaranteed quality and vehicle delivery.

With individual production capacities of at least 200 cars per month using a single work shift, each repair cell at the DCR Systems/Classic Accident Repair Campus can accommodate any level of damage severity, from minor work (next-day delivery) to non-drivable, heavy repairs. DCR opened the first cell in 2005 to launch the company’s unique repair process, then renamed it after signing a partnership agreement with Classic Auto Group last June.

DCR Systems president Michael Giarrizzo, Jr. said the three-cell operating concept allows Classic Auto Group to enhance its collision repair capabilities to meet a growing public demand for such services.

“The completion of the DCR Systems/Classic Accident Repair Campus enables the dealership to fully meet the needs and expectations of existing and potential customers while providing one-stop showroom to shop floor service,” said Giarrizzo.
