Motorcar Parts of America Q1 2007 Sales and Profit Up
Motorcar Parts of America, Inc. (MPA) has announced that its Q1 2007 net sales increased 27.5 percent to $27.2 million compared to the same quarter last year. The company’s gross profit and gross margin were $7.0 million and 25.9 percent, respectively, as compared to $3.4 million and 15.0 percent, respectively, in Q1 2006.Motorcar Parts of America is a remanufacturer of replacement alternators and starters for imported and domestic cars and light trucks in the United States and Canada. MPA has facilities in the United States in Torrance, California, and Nashville, Tennessee, as well as in Mexico, Singapore and Malaysia. The company was recently awarded a new supply contract from Pep Boys, and chosen to be the predominant supplier of alternators and starters for Pep Boys’ nationwide network of stores.
