Business Tools | Tuesday November 28 Progressive Offers Sign-On Bonus for New Hires at Austin and Tampa Call CentersThe Progressive Group of Insurance Companies wants to fill 60 new customer contact positions at its Austin, Texas call center. The growth will continue into the new year as the third largest auto insurance group in the country and fourth largest in Texas plans to add a total of 200 people in 2007. The new hires will complete an extensive, fully paid training program that will equip them to help customers who call in to purchase policies or report claims. Additional on-the-job training is offered on a regular basis."These positions offer excellent growth opportunities for candidates who want to advance their careers within an innovative company that has the goal of becoming consumers' number-one choice for car insurance," said Lynley Williams, Progressive recruiting manager. "We're excited to offer these opportunities to the people of Austin." The customer contact representatives will work at Progressive's regional headquarters, a 220,000 square foot campus in south Austin that was just built in 2004 and is now home to nearly half of Progressive's nearly 2,000 Texas employees. In addition to offering a competitive wage and benefit package, flexible work schedules, paid time off, and a casual dress code, Progressive offers childcare subsidies, an onsite fitness center, medical facility, and tuition assistance, with onsite college classes. As an added enticement, Progressive is now offering a $500 signing bonus. The same employment opportunity is also offered by Progressive at its Riverview Call Center, near Tampa, Florida, where 80 new customer contact positions are open.
