SCA Appraisal Hires Tim Dyer Western Division Vice President

Dyer began his insurance career in 1977 with Motors Insurance Company as a Salvage Coordinator. In 1981, he moved to Southern California and continued his career at Home Insurance Company where he was given many opportunities to develop expertise in Commercial Claims Handling. Between 1981 and 1986, Tim Dyer continued to advance to higher management levels with several companies based in Southern California both in Commercial and Personal Lines companies. In 1986, he became involved with the Independent Adjusting markets and opened offices in both Orange County and Riverside County for a San Diego-based Independent Adjusting Company.

In 1991, Dyer started Caliber Claims Service. His company developed many areas of expertise including performing as a liaison for numerous out of state carriers concerning the adherence to the California Fair Claims Settlement Act and also being appointed the in-state SIU Designate for them. The resultant involvement in SIU handling led to the conviction of many individuals between 1991 and 1997, involving liaison with California Highway Patrol, United States Postal Services, and numerous local District Attorneys throughout California. Criminal cases that required his testimony were both State and Federal actions.

Since 1997 Dyer held several positions at Universal Underwriters Insurance Company, where he handled many complex Class Action litigations brought against the auto dealer industry over the last decade. Dyer brings to SCA an understanding of the needs of the insurance claims industry, and has been a past client of SCA at his various positions for the better part of 25 years.

With the experience in the insurance industry that I possess, taking this commitment to a higher level is a challenge that is first and foremost to me in my new position,” said Dyer.
