Project Graduation Attendee Wins Car
Project Graduation, in its fourth year in Tucson, Arizona, provided safe all-night fun for graduates of Ironwood Ridge High School. The program, which depends on a partnership between school administration, parents, law enforcement, and the business community, was held on May 22-23.In addition to providing all-night fun filled with music, dancing, entertainment and food, a 1998 Toyota Camry was donated for a raffle to further entice graduating seniors to attend the Project Graduation events. 911 Collision Centers provided a complete makeover for the vehicle including removing all dings, dents and a full paint job.
“This is a great cause we are proud to support, and that’s why we’re back again this year,” said Michael Quinn, co-owner of 911 Collision Centers. “Our staff gets behind this project 110 percent. We had techs coming in after hours and on weekends to meet the deadline.”
The Specialists and Nu-Wheel also donated their services by providing new tires & rims as well as window tinting and new stereo equipment.
In order to be eligible to win, students had to stay throughout the night until the Grand Prize was awarded at around 5:00 a.m. the morning following graduation.
Project Graduation was developed over twenty years ago by the U.S. Department of Transportation and a National Grad Night Network to provide graduates a safe alternative to celebrations that have usually included alcohol resulting in accidents and loss of life. The program has proven successful in cities across the country. In communities where the program has become the traditional celebration, attendance has exceeded 80 percent of the graduating senior classes.
Founded in 1998, with headquarters in Tucson, 911 Collision Centers & Autoglass operates five locations in Tucson and two locations in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company was a recipient of the National Auto Body Council’s Pride Award for its broad commitment to community service.
