Third Annual AASP/NJ Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing Sets New Attendance Record

For the third year in a row, members and supporters of the automotive repair industry came out in droves to honor the memory of one of their own. The Third Annual AASP/NJ Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing, held on May 7, 2007 at the Bamm Hollow Country Club in Lincroft, drew well over 100 golfers to remember Scoras, who passed away in 2005.

"Lou was not only an integral part of the collision repair industry for many years, but also an avid golfer," said AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant, who organizes the event every year. "Dedicating our annual golf outing to Lou's memory is the least we could do. This year was by far our best outing yet. The weather was fantastic, we had our highest-yet number of golfers, and our many sponsors were more than generous in their support of this year's outing. I am still receiving calls from people just telling me what a great time they had. I'd like to extend special thanks to each and every one of this year's sponsors and attendees for making this event a great one."

"Putting the golf outing together every year is not an easy job," noted AASP/NJ President Tom Elder, "especially since the event is held mid-week. However, to garner support for the event all we had to do was mention Lou Scoras's name, and that was it; people jumped at the chance to participate. Lou got along with everybody, and between working in the industry and serving as Central Auto Body Association President, he made a ton of friends. We all really miss him, and are reminded of what a great guy he was every year by the amount of people who show up to and honor his memory."
